We’ve Done It - Wholesale Auction is Ready

Classic Mercedes Parts Wholesale Auction is Ready

After four months of hard work, our wholesale liquidation auction has been inventoried and catalogued, just in time for the big event that begins this coming Tuesday, August 9th.

We have organized 20,000 parts into 1,530 mostly small, chassis-specific lots. This is the bulk of the Silver Star Collection—10,000 square feet of parts that we purchased two years ago and moved to its current location in Southern California (read more about that here).

Our team in San Bernardino (myself included) has been very hard at work, completing a years’ worth of cataloguing in just four short months. We’ve been diving through decades of grime and beauty throughout the hot summer in a humid warehouse to offer these parts to the public.

Similarly to how we present retail products on our main website, we catalogued parts with an abundance of information so that buyers can make well-informed purchasing decisions. We thoroughly inspected parts and organized them into appropriate lots based on their chassis interchange. We took well-lit photos and then packed everything back into pallets for temporary storage.

The auction represents over 60% of the original Silver Star Collection. It includes nearly all of the larger body panels and interior parts, and a great deal of the small parts. There’s everything from Ponton and Adenauer parts from the early 1950s to parts from W140 and R129 chassis vehicles from the 1990s. It encompasses nearly every type of part available for both young and oldtimer Classic Mercedes.

This auction is only one part of our liquidation process of this collection. Our next step is direct private sales of cores and specialty parts to rebuilders and specialty resellers. If you are interested in hearing more about that, please contact us. After that is the most exciting step, as we begin listing individual parts to our ecommerce site where anyone can easily purchase them. We have set aside a very large amount of parts to offer to our retail customers, and we appreciate the patience everyone has maintained while waiting to get their hands on these exciting rare parts.

If you haven’t gone through everything on our auction site yet, I recommend starting on page 6. There’s a lot to sort through, and most of the best stuff is towards the end. If you haven’t registered yet, I strongly recommend you register right now, as our team will have to get you setup on the site before you can start bidding and we want to make sure anyone who wants to place bids over the weekend will be able to do so. This is also the last chance to tell your friends, your mechanic, and frankly anyone you know who loves these cars and struggles with finding parts.

Thank you so much for supporting this endeavor,
