Celebrating 10 Years of Classic Mercedes Parts

Ten years ago this week, I moved to a rural property where I could begin parting out Classic Mercedes. I’d been repairing and restoring vehicles for some time and was ready to start diving into the world of parts, but needed a space. After months of searching and several other properties falling through, I moved to some acreage in SW Oregon. Five months later, I leased a commercial storage space next to what would become the jumping off point for ReInvent The Wheel and MBZ Parts.

The last decade has been an incredible journey. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve seen this industry and the Classic Mercedes community change considerably. This company has grown from a tiny operation specializing in used parts for diesel Mercedes from the late 70s and early 80s to one of the largest ecommerce retailers of Classic Mercedes parts, with new, used and rebuilt parts for models from the early 50s to mid 90s.
While our expansion plans may have been sidestepped, we’re still planning to keep growing and offer an ever-expanding inventory and improved service for our customers.

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for everyone who has loyally supported this business through all our ups and downs—in particular those few and proud who have been with us since before our big move in 2016. THANK YOU!

When thinking about writing this, I asked myself, “How can I ask our customers to help us celebrate?”. Well, today also happens to be my birthday, so I it’s a bit hard to separate that question from, “How can our customers help me celebrate?”. I can’t help but admit that when people buy expensive things it does really help. Let’s be real—parts for Mercedes-Benz vehicles are not cheap. The prices reflect the quality, and the quality of these parts is about as good as it gets. At MBZ Parts, we know that you are making some big decisions with your wallet by purchasing parts through us. Every single purchase conveys trust in us and in Mercedes-Benz, and that trust becomes our mission to deliver the quality that you expect. So, when a customer makes a large purchase of an engine, or a big kit for restoration, that tells me that we’re doing something right. It gives me a sense of accomplishment—that the work we’ve put into this company has value, and is trustworthy. I’m not going to lie; that feels great.
So, if there’s a big purchase you’ve been considering, or a part you’ve had your on eye on for a while, I just ask that you consider celebrating with us. That bumper or engine or set of seat covers can be your toast to our 10-year Anniversary and to my birthday. Why not?

Finally, our Wholesale Liquidation Auction is now underway. We’re still in the process of uploading new listings and photos; I’ll send out an announcement later this week when the first batch is complete.
