Cars In The Yard: 1989 300E W124
This week, we are placing a spotlight on this W124 1989 300E here at our dismantling facility in Merlin, Oregon. Although we are known for our competence in classic diesel Mercedes-Benz models, we actually are equally verse with their petrol counterparts. Not as popular as its predecessor the W123, the W124 is a chassis that continues to capture a unique segment of the classic Mercedes-Benz market as it ages.
This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 300E was powered by the M103 straight-six cylinder motor which ran roughly from 1984 to 1997 with displacements of 2.6L and 3.0L. This well-known powerplant can also be found in models including the W126 S-class, W463 G-class, R129 and R107 SL-class's. Do you need parts and don't know which are interchangeable? Let us know your special parts request and we will certainly contribute in any way possible.
Keeping classic Mercedes-Benz roadworthy is apart of our company DNA. We can supply either genuine OEM used, new, or aftermarket and we encourage you to check out our online catalog MBZPARTS.COM which now offers express checkout options.
Fun Fact: The main differences between the M103 2.6L and 3.0L were the smaller bore and intake valves and a slightly different airbox
