W123 Mercedes 300D Sedan For Sale w/ OM617 Turbo-Diesel Engine

Vehicle History

Current owner has owned it since 2014. Original owner was in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Second owner was in Northfield MN, sold it to current owner. This car has been garage kept in Minnesota and has not been driven in MN. Comes with some ownership docs (Original owner's Title copy). Numerous receipts for repairs before and after current owner bought it, plus several receipts for repairs current owner did. Paper records don't prove mileage. Odometer stopped working at 129K about 2 years ago; since then has put about 1,200 miles on it. This is definitely a low mileage OM617!

Mechanical Condition

Body Condition

Body is perfectly straight, with a few tiny paint chips, peppering, etc. Paint is rare Petrol Green color, also called Blue-Green Metallic, (paint code 877 or 877U). No evidence of accidents at all.
Small rust spot (2-3”) repaired with new metal, front left pan under bumper. Small rust perforation repaired on rear left quarter panel, just below C pillar trim (pictured). One small bubble behind wheel well on rear left quarter panel (pictured). Some rust on inner fender below battery tray. Undercarriage is essentially free of rust, except a little surface rust on suspension. Floors are perfect. VERY RARE in Minnesota! Paint job is a first respray due to crazing, performed before it moved to MN. It is in generally excellent condition. From 10 feet it’s gorgeous. The metallic torquoise is a beautiful color and people often comment on it. Some spots on sunroof are losing clearcoat.
Subtle paint mismatch on rear left fender top paint, hard to see (pictured). The doors and trunk close with that bank vault “thunk”.
All the rubber window surrounds and door rubbers are in excellent condition although front passenger door rubber is showing some very minor edge cracking.
Bumper rubber and plastics, roof edge plastics are in great shape. 90% of exterior plastic and rubber looks new or near new.
Trunk lid lock needs new cylinder. Door locks have been converted to manual. All windows work, left rear window regulator thumps as it goes up and down, but works fine. Electric sunroof works perfectly. All interior lights and exterior lights work perfectly, except gauge cluster lights are dim and makeup mirror lights don’t work.
Recent work: Touched up small spots of road peppering at leading edge of hood and near cowl. Cleaned out the water drain lines in the engine compartment and the power sunroof, as well as the vent holes in A and C pillars and around trunk lid seal. Lubricated all door hinges, door open straps, window channels and power window mechanisms, door lock cylinders, ignition cylinder, hood hinge points, hood latch and cable, sunroof slider mechanism, trunk lid hinges. Lubricated/renewed all rubber door and window surrounds with appropriate silicone grease.

Interior Condition

Excellent interior overall. Some fading of MBTex vinyl near windows. Door cards and headliner are excellent to like new. Carpets have some wear and discoloration. A set of Mercedes logo carpet floor coverings is included, has some spots, mostly very good. Seats are supportive and comfortable, though the driver's seat bottom is a little saggy on outer corner. 
Dash in excellent condition, but has 3 small cracks. Wood trim has several thin cracks. Seat back netting sags a bit, one plastic trim is broken. Instrument cluster needs lightbulbs. Stereo is gone, matching wood cover in place. Power antenna works, but doesn't go all the way down. I have first aid kit, but plastic lid is gone. Rear left ashtray needs trim to be glued on. Illuminated visor lights nonfunctional, one mirror surround is broken. The condition overall, is very impressive shape for a 36 year old car.
 The MB tex upholstery is all in great shape, the seat backs are faded a little bit in shoulder area. Carpets are all intact, some fading and some discoloration.
