W140 Chassis
Parts for the W140 Chassis Mercedes-Benz, Manufactured from 1991-1999. These vehicles are the last of the old school over-engineered Mercedes vehicles. After a full decade in production, the W140 was released in 1991 with a number of new innovations in safety and comfort which were gradually released in C-Class and E-Class models. The W140 Chassis reportedly cost Mercedes-Benz nearly a billion dollars to develop, and the sticker price of this sleek S-Class was a bit higher to compensate. Along with economic factors, this led to reduced sales and to Mercedes reducing the amount of development and engineering which they put into future models. Is the W140 the last Mercedes-Benz S-Class to find its ranks among the classics? Time will tell. The W140 was released in both coupe and sedan models with V8 engines, and with the V12 M70 engine in it's 600-series models.
