W123 1983 300D Solid Daily Driver For Sale 15k OBO
Vehicle History
This W123 300D comes equipped with original OM617 engine and 722.1 automatic transmission with 114,591 miles on it.
The owner bought the car back in early 2017 from a friends grandfather who got it from a local car collector who drove it periodically along with his many other old cars. It originally was bought in Indiana (Mishawaka area). The Maintenance booklet shows regular maintenance up to 53359 miles in 6/14/90, most of which all show Gurley-Leep Buick, Inc (also a mercedes-benz dealer). With that and the condition of the car, he believe's the mileage is correct.
Mechanical Condition
Engine works great, Owner replaced the head shortly after he got it as it was cracked, he has since put around 4000 miles on it since repairs. The engine will not shut off with key under short distance, believe possible vacuum leak but have not been able to find it, I just use the shut down lever on top of the engine, I have also installed a shut down cable for this reason. Trans works, it shifts stoutly between 1st and 2nd, but found if you drive it daily for a week or so it shifts smoothly. Probably from sitting too much. The rest of the car is very sound. There is AC on the car, Don't think it works, never used it. Heat does work. suspension is in good shape with good brakes and decent tires.
Body Condition
The body has normal wear and tear, no major damage. No rust, Owner put it away for the winter months. The one headlight has a crack on the lens. In the pictures you may notice the hood emblem is broken off, they have a new one ordered and it will be replaced when it comes in. They just had a major detail job on this car so it is very good shape and also will come with a new car cover.
Interior Condition
The interior is in good shape, still has the original first aid kit in the rear window. The dash does have a few cracks in it as you see in the pictures. Headliner is in great shape as well with a sun roof.

Owner:
Its been a great car to drive and work on, I'm a John Deere Diesel tech by trade, but enjoy working on many different types of diesel engines. It is a great car with low miles for whatever you want to do with it and I would not be scared to drive it long distance. I have been impressed by the very smooth and comfortable ride of this car. Thanks for looking.
