Cars In The Yard: 280SEL W108
This week we are celebrating a milestone in MBZ Parts history, welcoming our first long-wheel-base W108 sedan to our dismantling facility. The W108, alongside the W109, were produced from July 1965 thru November 1972. With roughly 383,300 units produced, they set the standard for the Mercedes Benz luxury motoring market. Despite the similarities in the W108 and W109 chassis one significant difference was the use of conventional suspension throughout the W108 line up and air-ride suspension in the 109s. Both models were considered limited production with North American exclusivity in 1973 making these cars worth preserving whenever possible. This Byzance Gold Metallic W108 LWB example is slightly beyond restoration candidacy however has many Genuine Mercedes-Benz parts that will contribute to keeping others roadworthy. Whether you have a classic Mercedes-Benz project or you're part of the distinguished group of classic Mercedes daily drivers, chances are we have the part that you need. We can supply either genuine OEM used, new, or aftermarket and we encourage you to check out our online catalog MBZPARTS.COM which now offers express checkout options.
Fun Fact: the W108/109 was one of the last chassis on which Mercedes included an engine displacement badge on the boot lid.
